Redefining the Post-Pandemic Workplace
Overview
Redefining the Post-Pandemic Workplace Through Purpose and Sustainability
In the wake of the pandemic, two truths became clear: the office will endure, and it will not return to what it once was.
For The Nature Conservancy (TNC), this moment presented an opportunity to reimagine the workplace—not simply as a place of work, but as a catalyst for collaboration, wellbeing, and purpose.
Design Approach
A Workplace Aligned to Mission
The Nairobi office for The Nature Conservancy is designed as a sustainable, collaborative, and inspiring environment—one that authentically reflects the organisation’s commitment to protecting the natural world.
Every design decision was guided by TNC’s values, ensuring the space supports both its people and its global mission.
Inspiration and Craft
Inspired by Nature’s Palette
The interior colour strategy draws directly from nature itself. A base palette of greens, browns, and muted blues creates a calm, grounded atmosphere, echoing forests, soil, and water.
Strategic accents of vibrant greens and blues punctuate the space—symbolising the lush landscapes and vital water bodies that TNC works tirelessly to conserve across the world.
Workplace Experience
Collaboration, Comfort & Connection
The workplace balances openness with focus, providing spaces that encourage teamwork while supporting individual concentration and reflection.
Natural tones, tactile materials, and thoughtfully layered lighting create a welcoming environment that promotes wellbeing and long-term comfort.
Production and sustainability
A Future-Focused Office
This is a workplace designed for resilience—flexible, human-centred, and rooted in sustainability.
A space that acknowledges change, supports evolving ways of working, and empowers teams to continue driving meaningful environmental impact.
