BAT Headquarters Nairobi
A Rejuvenated Workplace for an Energised, Collaborative & Agile Future
Overview
A major step in BAT’s East & Central Africa Area (ECAA).
Design Partnership Africa is proud to have delivered the reimagined BAT Headquarters in Nairobi, a landmark project that marked a major step in the company’s East & Central Africa Area (ECAA) “hub rejuvenation” journey.
Completed in 2019, the transformation introduced a modern, dynamic workplace aligned with BAT’s ambition to create an environment that is energised, collaborative, and agile.
Design Approach
A Bold Vision for the Future of Work
The design responds directly to BAT ECAA’s mantra, shaping a workplace that supports fast-paced operations, cross-functional teamwork, and a more connected culture.
The revitalised headquarters consolidates both manufacturing and commercial operations into an integrated, future-fit environment that reflects the organisation’s evolving role in the region.
Sustainability & Performance
Designed for Engagement. Built for Evolution.
The new office blends contemporary spatial design, flexible work settings, and branded storytelling to create a workspace that empowers teams to work with greater confidence and creativity.
Open layouts, shared collaboration zones, and adaptable meeting rooms allow staff to connect easily, exchange ideas, and respond quickly to the needs of the business.
Area Director Beverley Spencer-Obatoyinbo noted that the redesign has taken the ECAA work environment “into a completely creative and innovative realm,” reinforcing BAT’s commitment to providing a great place to work.
Workplace Experience
Designed for Energy, Collaboration & Agility
More than a store or service centre, the Hub is an interactive digital playground — a place where business owners, innovators, and everyday customers can experiment, learn, and immerse themselves in Safaricom’s world of connectivity.
At its heart lies a simple idea: technology becomes most powerful when it feels natural, intuitive, and enjoyable.
This Hub brings that idea to life.
